Md.’s unclaimed stimulus checks
October 10, 2008
On Friday, Democrats in Congress began to push for another federal stimulus package like the one that passed last winter. According to CNN, this bill will be targeted toward helping state governments pay their bills, helping out especially with Medicaid spending.
There’s no indication in this article that the roughly $150 billion spending package would include the consumer givebacks that the spending package earlier this year did, but there may still be hope for you. Baltimore leads the state in potential unfiled tax returns, according to a release from Comptroller Peter Franchot.
Anyone who didn’t file a return didn’t get their stimulus check, so the state still has thousands of folks who might be eligible for a little cash infusion.
Here’s a breakdown of nonfilers by county:

Baltimore City - 16,236

Got something to say?
i feel that the government is not giving out a big enough stimulus check to the citizens of the usa . they give big business billions, but they give us $600.00, how generous! i think if you want to stimulate the country financiually it will take a lot more than $600 to do this. Maybe they might want to try gving the citizens a check for more thatn a couple grand. this might actually do us some good as most o America has bills that come to way more than $600. We have never been asked what we need but when banks were in need they submitted paperwork showing the amount they needto not go under. The government decided for us what they thought we needed. How pompous is that! i also feel that anyone makin less than $50,000.00 a year should not have to pay any taxes! we just get by in my household on a two income amount of $950.00 a week! this just gets us by and we cannot afford health care, nor any life emergencies as we are stretched tight. i may have to quit my job as gas is getting too expensive etc. we all need some relief from this soon or i am sure negativity will breed issues.
