Billick tackles broadcast

September 4, 2008

brian-billick.jpgSo now, Brian Billick is on the other side.

Does anyone remember his oft-quoted quote from November 2001?

After quarterback Elvis Grbac had played very well in a Ravens victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Billick couldn’t resist poking at sports columnists who had questioned Grbac’s previous performances — and Billick’s decision to continue playing Grbac.

Billick started off by asking, “Anybody want to ask me who my quarterback is next week?”

And then he said: “Again, remember now, that’s why owners own, coaches coach, players play and writers write.”

In addition to his new investment in WNST, the former Ravens coach will be a game analyst for NFL games on the Fox Network.

Funny how things work out, isn’t it?
