Ketch as ketch can

May 13, 2008

Thumbing through the federal court docket yesterday, I found a Huntingtown man’s petition to release a lien that was placed on his “Frers 44 ft sailing ketch” due to $3,500 in dispute on a $34,700 repair bill.

There’s nothing too extraordinary about a disagreement between a boat owner and a repair shop concerning cost overruns. Or that the petition mentions an “aft chain plate,” the “interior trunk,” and “teak decking.”

It was the vessel’s name, “Between the Sheets,” that caught my eye.

In the same vein as Caryn Tamber’s plea for law-themed vanity plates, and with summer around the corner, what’s the best boat name you’ve seen?
