Law blog round-up

May 12, 2008

A happy soggy Monday to you all!

  • The City Paper has started a column to follow up on whether those arrested for murder were actually convicted. Hat tip: Baltimore Crime.
  • The Religion Clause blog has a post about the other Texas polygamy case, this one dealing with a “sect” (when does a group cross over from sect to cult, anyway?) led by a guy named — you can’t make this stuff up — Yisrayl “Buffalo Bill” Hawkins.
  • Rees Morrison at Law Department Management criticizes monthly flat-fee billing.
  • The Post had a story yesterday about lawyer outsourcing to India. I’ve asked around a bit and the firms around here don’t seem to be doing it at this point, but it is catching on elsewhere. “My people in India can do everything from here, except sign the opinion letter and appear in an American court,” says an outsourcing company head.
