Stables look for dark horse in race for sponsorship rights

May 8, 2008

5c66_1.JPGWant to see your company’s name on the big stage during Preakness Weekend? You only have a few more days, but if you are willing to fork over at least $50,000, you could sponsor a stable of six horses.

Elite Stables LLC is selling “sponsorship rights” for their horses, which will be running various events at Pimlico next week. Elite is using eBay to sell the rights. They haven’t got any bids yet, but in a news release, they say there have been plenty of inquiries.

The horse they’re touting most highly is a 3-year-old filly called Hadavision, who will be running on Friday, May 16, in the Grade III Miss Preakness Stakes.

But that’s not the only Preakness investment you can make on eBay.

Want to bet on Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown to win, but don’t feel like standing in line? This person will buy a $5 ticket for you and send it in the mail, only $8.99 plus shipping.

See you at Pimlico!
